New Google Nexus 7 £60 version out by March!

The whispers of a $99 (£60) Google Nexus 7 tablet are back. According to word from the east, Google and Asus are teaming up once again, aiming to come up with a slate that costs less than a quarter of an iPad mini – and it’ll be out by spring next year.
DigiTimes reports that Google and Asus are working on a new version of the smash hit Google Nexus 7 tablet that could cost as little as $99, though sources told the paper that a price of around $129-149 (£79-91) is more likely. Best of all, it could be out “as early as the first quarter of 2013” – or before March, in other words.
Asus stole the show with the original £159 Google Nexus 7 back in July this year. With its fast innards and up to date software at a low price, even giants like Amazon with its Kindle Fire line have had trouble keeping up: six months on, and it’s still the best value slate on sale today – even Apple’s impressive iPad mini still costs much more.
But a £99 Google Nexus 7 could be even more of a bargain for those yet to try out a tablet. Would you buy one? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below.
